Rear subframe removal questions

I am stripping my car and am about to remove the rear subframe. Can I just drop it as a complete unit, differential CV joints and all, or should I do some extra disassembly beforehand. Any tips would be helpful, or point me to a previous post. Many thanks.

Yup- unhook the hydraulic lines,

the e- brake cables

the driveshaft,

and the rear diff mount (from the body seems easier on my cars)

and the shocks (careful- the springs need to be released with ajack

under the trailing arms)

and then lower the subframe.

Sometimes it slides right off.

Sometimes you have to pry on it to adjust the angle so it slides right off.

This is by far the easiest way.

Oh- if you are going to remove the hubs, loosen the

36mm nuts before lowering the subframe. Much

easier with it solidly attached to car.
