I really wanted to put some work into this car but I'm finding I just don't have the time or money. It runs and drives, and it's very rare. Decoding the VIN told me it was made in May of 1977 and it was privately imported from Germany. I'm sure you know more about my car than I do, which is exactly why I'd like to sell it here - to someone who has the know-how to restore it properly. Definitely needs a new paintjob, aside from that just TLC but it fires up and runs very well. The mileage is 24,800km and that is 100% original with documentation to prove it. Respond if you're interested, it's located in Hampton NB (Canada) but I'd drive it to Calais, ME for shipping to the states or I could tow it to you on my car hauler if you're in the North east.

Thanks,

Warren

P.S.

I have lots more pictures available upon request

I think the value isn't going to be all that high. In my mind the value of a low-mileage car is that is should be in pristine, original condition. Once it gets restored, it's just the same as any other restored car.

Just on principle, low miles and all, its a cool car to tidy up. But a full blown restoration a base model car is like, as they say at the casino, like kissin' yer sister.

Would make a great turbo clone..

See I think the value is not high but how could any one think of building a turbo out of this. It is a 77 which only a few were made and may not make it desirable but makes it rare non the less. I know these to values are totally separate but still. With our cars getting older and more and more disappearing everyday we need to save the ones we can. I would love to get it if I had the money. I so hope someone buys this and just cleans it up to its originalish condition.

really not worth much, even with low KM's. 1502 were the last of the e10 body style, were stripped down models, with smaller motors. these were only sold in germany and some were shipped to south america as kd cars.

not worth the time or money to restore, yet could be a good driver just to be different. the smart money goes to '72-'73 TIIs or '74 turbos. there are still a lot of 02s out there. bmw sold over 400,000 in US during the short run '68-'76. anyway that's one 02ers opinion.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
