  1. What's new in this club
  2. My name is Jeff Gomon. I am Three things, a 2002 owner, South Central Region VP/National Board Member and lastly, in need of your help. Terry Sayther has approached the Board and requested the formation of a stand alone non-geographical BMW CCA 2002 chapter. This chapter would allow for greater communication of 2002 owners and groups everywhere. To get things started signatures from 250 members are needed for the chapter petition. We are over 1/2 way there and need your help. Further, once the chapter has its charter, we will hold elections for a Board and Area "Governors" in all regions. Follow the link below for more info and sign the petition. Below is Terry's message. Thank you!! ------------------------------------------------------------- "We're working our way toward the 250 signatures we need to form a 2002 Chapter of the BMW CCA, and we are over half way there! But…that was the easy half. We need more that a hundred additional CCA Member signatures to meet the requirement. SO---I'd like all of you to think of additional ways we might get more people to sign up, rejoin the club so that you can sign up, give membership gifts so that your friends can sign up, and spread the word! Go to https://2002sforever.net/sign-the-petition/ and sign up now! We are under-represented on the west coast---somebody get those guys motivated, please If you've been procrastinating---stop that! Sign up today. Do it! Many thanks for those of you out there who have been spreading the word and encouraging friends. We appreciate your efforts! Happy Holidays---Terry Terry Sayther Vintage Bimmers [email protected] Terry Sayther Automotive 512-442-1361
  3. Looking to buy a car in the Tampabay/Greater FL region. Let me know if you see anything, budget is around 6k.
  4. Here's a picture from our last breakfast meeting. Ignore the British car in the middle. Hope you can make it some day.
  5. Looking for late model kidney grill, trunk boards, and sun visors.
  6. Welcome Scoopyg, I am just a bit north and serve as one of the Governors for the Florida Suncoast BMWCCA. More importantly, I own 2 02s, and would love to get together with fellow owners in this area. There is a group that meets in Clearwater but I have not yet made it to a gathering...
  7. Brian from Palm Harbor which is near Tampa. Have owned several 2002s. My blue '74 car has been with me since the late 1980s. Have one recent acquisition which is a black '76 with an S14. Still need to sort out a few things on that one. We have a small group that has breakfast get togethers every couple months. We usually meet in the Clearwater area often after the Dupont Registry cars and coffee. I think we had 6 cars two weeks ago. Next one will probably be in January. If anyone wants to join us, I'll add you to our email list. Pic Below is of my black '76.
  8. Tampa area, hoping to find more folks in this part of the state....Longtime multiple 02 owner with 2 currently in the garage.
  9. Jon, I will keep and eye out for you. In Orlando.
  10. Hello, I've just recently bought an 2002 that needs a little tlc. I'm looking for a 5 spd transmission, lsd and e21 Recaros. I'll also be needing a replacement spare tire well. I'm open to something a little later that would be deeper as well as using a 2002 well. I'll be adding more things to my wish list as I get a little deeper into things. I'm in Melbourne but willing to drive within FL for pick up. Thanks, Jon
  11. I have been on FAQ for several years, can't believe I never noticed the Florida registry, although I have met quite a few members already through Facebook, etc, and in person. My '02 is a real deal Alpina-built 1971 2002 that I have owned since 1982. Found it in Hialeah when I lived in South Florida. It was in sad shape. Bodywork and paint in the '80s, continuous freshening and upgrades since. Most recently the seats were re-covered in replica Alpina fabric. I'm in Jacksonville.
  12. I guess I'll start checking out local events and yes, the BMWCCA Roundel magazine will no doubt help in identifying them. Might be able to use some of that saved tax money towards a new subscription.
  13. Hi LJ, Welcome to Florida! You will find there isn't the strong 2002 community you had on the west coast, but on the plus side we don't have income tax! Haha. Maybe the local chapter of the BMWCCA is a good place to meet fellow 2002s? I joined after getting mine, but haven't made it to any meets yet.
  14. Have just relocated to Vero Beach from San Diego, CA. Brought my '73 Tii with me. Have owned it for almost 20 years now. It appears as if the last post on this thread was close to 2 years ago, which makes me think we 2002 owners are pretty spread out in the Sunshine State, hence not close enough to support a cohesive group. Hope someone will convince me that's incorrect.
  15. When you say PW, PS, and PB you can't mean "power windows" "power brakes" & "power steering" . can you??
  16. --I should have added: I live in Bonita Springs, Florida and my # is 248-330-1394
  17. I purchased the compressor thinking I needed it for my 1976 2002. My mechanic fixed the one in the car so I don't need it. I am also considering selling my 1976 2002 with only 26,000 original miles. It has auto trans, AC, PW, PB and PS and original paint and interior.
  18. Hello All, Just found this thread after being a member for a while. Great idea considering Florida is somewhat isolated from the main 02 hubs and shipping big parts gets expensive! Would like to have a spare mostly complete M10 motor to slowly rebuilt if anyone has one laying around. Thanks! Grant

  21. Hello. I have been away dealing with a divorce. I am back and will check in from time to time. If you have any current request, please update. I do have a 4 spd tranny that will be for sale down the road.
  22. Hey there, I am new to the site and excited about it. I am looking to purchase a +~1970 2002 to drive and work on. This was my first car and man do I wish I still had it. Needs to be a roundie and would like the rag top sun roof. Low rust and mostly complete but does not nesecarily need to be running. Man I wish I still had that car. Lol. Sold it like 30 years ago. And now its gonna cost me to replace it. Any ideas and leads would be greatly appreciated.
  23. Hey Scoop, welcome to Tampa. Nice 02! I've got a '76 (my first) I rescued out of a barn in West Virginia that hasn't seen the road in nearly 30 years. I'm working on it a little here and there, but I'm a noob. It'll be roadworthy some day. Until then, it's just a dream. I'll keep my eyes out for ya!
  24. AleH, Welcome! Beautiful import. Hope to see it up close some day. I you are a Facebook person, (not particularly a fan myself) I did just start a page for 02 people. The idea is to post 02 drives and events while having a 02 specific sale section BMW 02 Mid State. Cheers
  25. Welcome to the Florida section. Thanks for beautiful pic and register. I hope we can all get together for a drive.
