First welcome to the coast and to our group. I am sure you will find plenty of help and support. To answer your question, here is a link to ICBC the government agency responsible, Motorists moving to or from B.C. WWW.ICBC.COM This should give you the necessary info for the hoops you will have to jump thru in order to insure your car. I would encourage you to contact an agent in the area you are planning to move to. They can help you answer any questions as well. If you are moving into the Lower mainland please let me know and we can steer you in the right direction. Regards, Mike

Hey everyone. I'm planning to drive my 2002 out from alberta where its sat in storage for the last two years. I do have some rocker rust that I plan to address once I get out here. but I was curious if anyone has some insight into what the OPI requirements would be like/ are like here in BC. I'm intending it to be a running project and I'm curious as to what I might encounter as I bring it here and attempt to insure it in BC. Thanks

South on the 101 A few if us from North of the Border are planning a trip to Car Week next year. We are hoping a few more enthusiasts would be interested in joining up and driving down as group, or even hook up with us along the way. We are planning on crossing the border early Thursday the 11th, head south on the I 5 and cut across to the coast to Astoria. There we will spend our first night. From there, proceed south taking 3-4 days or so, traveling down the 101 to Santa Rosa. The plan is to limit the driving to 3-4 hours a day taking our time, with at least 3 overnights along the way. Finally, spend a day in the Bay area, hopefully to hook up with some of the Bay area crowd before heading onto Monterey on the 15th. The itinerary for the Coast leg is not yet finalized but you are welcome to piggy back our reservations if the plans or timetable is suitable to your satisfaction. I will post this information once we have finalized them. ....more

hello- I'm new here, just posted: Hello Everyone- a newbie here- I have a treasure...a 1972 BMW 2002 tii round tail light. A dear friend passed away and left his cars(also a 1987 BMW 3 series white convertible and a 1997 3 series black coupe) to me to sell, with all $$ going to cancer research. If only I could keep them... many a fun ride in all of them...the 2002 has not been driven or started in approx a year, but it ran beautifully and am sure it would be easy to start-a jump and a tweak. Standard of course. The owner always loved to work on it, and has made many mods. Was originally orange but silver when he bought it 2011? The car has been parked in an underground parkade for many years. Lots of parts + tools avail. File with repair + parts details + handbook. Am in East Vancouver, can show it anytime. Any interest out there ? thanks! more pics available.. -

Vancouver 02 gang, I thought I'd try local first before I reach out to the States. I'm attempting to put on two Solex PHH 40's I have onto my car and I'm trying to scrounge parts. I've found remanufactured throttle linkages from pedal all the way to the carbs in the States so those bits are covered. What I'm looking for is mainly the Choke bits. On the Exploded View Diagram 13/20 I'm looking for parts #8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, & 24. Do any of you local guys have what I require sitting in a spare parts bin? Thank you, Steve -

Does anyone have a restorable '02?
stu_mitch replied to stu_mitch's topic in BC/Lower Mainland Owners Group's Topics
Hi! I've had a few '02's... the last one I did had an EFI setup with Megasquirt... very cool car. I thought that replacing the rear strut towers at the time was alot of bodywork, but this one is over the top ? This car is a project I'm doing with my son. I picked the car up in Surrey... it was hiding behind a barn on 16th ave. I think this one might have too much rust, unfortunately. The tag in the engine bay calls it a Tii, but it is a typical '02. -

First, welcome to the group, I am curious do you have any pics of the car and any recent history. is this your first or a long time owner? I can tell you that rollers do come up but not that often on FAQ but if your diligent you maybe able to find a suitable donor. I live in Cloverdale, regards...Mike -
