  5. My name is Jeff Gomon. I am Three things, a 2002 owner, South Central Region VP/National Board Member and lastly, in need of your help. Terry Sayther has approached the Board and requested the formation of a stand alone non-geographical BMW CCA 2002 chapter. This chapter would allow for greater communication of 2002 owners and groups everywhere. To get things started signatures from 250 members are needed for the chapter petition. We are over 1/2 way there and need your help. Further, once the chapter has its charter, we will hold elections for a Board and Area "Governors" in all regions. Follow the link below for more info and sign the petition. Below is Terry's message. Thank you!! ------------------------------------------------------------- "We're working our way toward the 250 signatures we need to form a 2002 Chapter of the BMW CCA, and we are over half way there! But…that was the easy half. We need more that a hundred additional CCA Member signatures to meet the requirement. SO---I'd like all of you to think of additional ways we might get more people to sign up, rejoin the club so that you can sign up, give membership gifts so that your friends can sign up, and spread the word! Go to https://2002sforever.net/sign-the-petition/ and sign up now! We are under-represented on the west coast---somebody get those guys motivated, please If you've been procrastinating---stop that! Sign up today. Do it! Many thanks for those of you out there who have been spreading the word and encouraging friends. We appreciate your efforts! Happy Holidays---Terry Terry Sayther Vintage Bimmers [email protected] Terry Sayther Automotive 512-442-1361
  6. Hi Henry, Wow... you guys have quite the set-up there! Wish I was down your way. We have lots of 02ers in your area. Our group is mostly on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/bmw2002us/ Did you already find a new person to share space?? Scott Sislane
  7. Hi Northeast FAQers! I'm looking for a car enthusiast in need of some garage space in northeast Connecticut. I have a garage space in Bethlehem CT that I share with a few buds for wrenching on our 2002 race cars, restoration projects and drinking beer on a Saturday night. One of our esteemed faq colleagues relocated and moved his cars closer to home. So, this leaves us with some space that we are hoping to fill with a car enthusiast who needs a place to wrench or hide a project from a significant other and can contribute some $ towards the rent. All car people would be welcome, but an 2002 fan would probably get the most out of it since you'd be sharing space with some 02 guys. Quite a few FAQers have come through to wrench on a race weekend, pick up a spare part or talk shop and have a beer. The shop has a decent amount of work space, we fit about 6-8 cars in the garage. We also have an office area that we use for indoor parts storage. Also, there is a nice parking space outside where we keep a couple parts cars and race trailer. Some pics of the shop over the years are below. If you or someone you know is in need of some space and interested, send me a message and we can share contact info. Cheers! Henry
  8. Hi Mark, thanks. She is actually a 2002, my old one was the 1600-2. Nice bike. here is the '02 w/ another Brit toy.
  9. Similar taste in cars. I had a '70 TR6 before the family came along. My current '73 2002 is my re-entry into the vintage world. I did manage to squeeze a '70 Triumph Daytona (motorcycle) into my garage with all the kids bikes and toys over the last few years. Enjoy the 1600-2, it looks like a beauty.
  10. Hi All, new owner in Central Mass here. I had a 1600-2 back in college, when I met my Wife and she suggested we add one to the fleet. I found this one; '74 in golf, very original. She joins a few other vintage cars and trucks in the fleet, and doesn't need much major, just a few little things. Look forward to joining the forum.
  11. Greetings. I am looking for a repair/restoration shop for my '73 2002. Looking to have the motor hum and enhance interior. Thanks, Young Dave
  12. Hello All, Hopefully everyone is dusting off the cars and getting ready for another season! We’ve planned a Spring Drive that should allow everyone to have time for oil changes, cleaning up and maybe some repairs or upgrades knocked-off the list! We will be meeting at our original meeting place from 2009. When: Saturday, May 19th at 10:00 AM Where: Green Street Lot, 2 Unicorn St, Newburyport, MA 01950 12:00 Noon we will make our way to the Riverwalk Brewery for lunch: http://riverwalkbrewing.com/craft-brewery-near/ 40 Parker Street Newburyport, MA 01950 978.499.2337 Looking forward to seeing everyone & let’s hope for nice weather! 13. I am in Boston, and I am currently looking into someone in Philly, not VAC but Mike Yaskin at Bavarian Specialties, also I have been talking to Marc Feinstein at German Performance up here in Boston, any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you, Richard
  14. Evening folks, does anyone have a recommendation for a local engine builder that can do a stage II high performance build with out sending it to Korman or Turner ? Thank you, Rich
  15. Vintage Sports and Restoration in Bedford, NH VSR1.com.
  16. Can anyone provide recommendations for good body work? This would be a small project; I've accumulated a couple of dings on my 2002 that I'd like fixed. In both cases, repainting and re clear coating may be required. Preferably North of Boston, but I'm willing to travel further.
  17. Where are you located? My suggestion if you are serious about buying a 2002 is call Chris or Mario at VSRin Bedford, NH. You wont find more knowledgeable 2002 folks around. They helped my source mine (in Arizona), helped with an out of state PPI, and just provided a realistic expectation for 2002 ownership and logical ownership plan. They installed a full coil over suspension and BBK for me. Car is awesome and they are the reason. www.VSR1.com Good luck with your search. Quick crappy cell phone pick of the car with its new stance and stopping power:
  18. Looks like a great car. Congrats. I'm in the process of looking for my first 2002 and would also like to meet up with others to pick their brains. Let me know if you are planning something.
  19. https://www.facebook.com/1976BMW2002/ Hey guys, looking to sell some of my projects and focus on my other cars. So I have three 1976 BMW 2002, blue, yellow and copper. My plan was to use the yellow and copper to fix up the blue. The issue with the blue is the rust. Rear fenders, rockers, front fenders and towers. I was going to use the parts cars and parts that I have bought to repair the blue and repaint. I have rust free front fenders, new rockers and sure that the parts cars could cover the rest. I have tons of parts removed and boxed up. Just putting this out to see if anyone is interested. If I don't get a buyer I just will look to finish the car and sell it complete and part out the other two. See facebook page link for more pixs. Thanks! $5,500 firm for all three and all parts.
