  2. Hi Northeast FAQers! I'm looking for a car enthusiast in need of some garage space in northeast Connecticut. I have a garage space in Bethlehem CT that I share with a few buds for wrenching on our 2002 race cars, restoration projects and drinking beer on a Saturday night. One of our esteemed faq colleagues relocated and moved his cars closer to home. So, this leaves us with some space that we are hoping to fill with a car enthusiast who needs a place to wrench or hide a project from a significant other and can contribute some $ towards the rent. All car people would be welcome, but an 2002 fan would probably get the most out of it since you'd be sharing space with some 02 guys. Quite a few FAQers have come through to wrench on a race weekend, pick up a spare part or talk shop and have a beer. The shop has a decent amount of work space, we fit about 6-8 cars in the garage. We also have an office area that we use for indoor parts storage. Also, there is a nice parking space outside where we keep a couple parts cars and race trailer. Some pics of the shop over the years are below. If you or someone you know is in need of some space and interested, send me a message and we can share contact info. Cheers! Henry
  3. Hi Mark, thanks. She is actually a 2002, my old one was the 1600-2. Nice bike. here is the '02 w/ another Brit toy.
  4. Similar taste in cars. I had a '70 TR6 before the family came along. My current '73 2002 is my re-entry into the vintage world. I did manage to squeeze a '70 Triumph Daytona (motorcycle) into my garage with all the kids bikes and toys over the last few years. Enjoy the 1600-2, it looks like a beauty.
  5. Hi All, new owner in Central Mass here. I had a 1600-2 back in college, when I met my Wife and she suggested we add one to the fleet. I found this one; '74 in golf, very original. She joins a few other vintage cars and trucks in the fleet, and doesn't need much major, just a few little things. Look forward to joining the forum.
  6. Greetings. I am looking for a repair/restoration shop for my '73 2002. Looking to have the motor hum and enhance interior. Thanks, Young Dave

  11. Can anyone provide recommendations for good body work? This would be a small project; I've accumulated a couple of dings on my 2002 that I'd like fixed. In both cases, repainting and re clear coating may be required. Preferably North of Boston, but I'm willing to travel further.
  12. Where are you located? My suggestion if you are serious about buying a 2002 is call Chris or Mario at VSRin Bedford, NH. You wont find more knowledgeable 2002 folks around. They helped my source mine (in Arizona), helped with an out of state PPI, and just provided a realistic expectation for 2002 ownership and logical ownership plan. They installed a full coil over suspension and BBK for me. Car is awesome and they are the reason. www.VSR1.com Good luck with your search. Quick crappy cell phone pick of the car with its new stance and stopping power:
  13. Looks like a great car. Congrats. I'm in the process of looking for my first 2002 and would also like to meet up with others to pick their brains. Let me know if you are planning something.
  14. https://www.facebook.com/1976BMW2002/ Hey guys, looking to sell some of my projects and focus on my other cars. So I have three 1976 BMW 2002, blue, yellow and copper. My plan was to use the yellow and copper to fix up the blue. The issue with the blue is the rust. Rear fenders, rockers, front fenders and towers. I was going to use the parts cars and parts that I have bought to repair the blue and repaint. I have rust free front fenders, new rockers and sure that the parts cars could cover the rest. I have tons of parts removed and boxed up. Just putting this out to see if anyone is interested. If I don't get a buyer I just will look to finish the car and sell it complete and part out the other two. See facebook page link for more pixs. Thanks! $5,500 firm for all three and all parts.

  19. Hi Everyone, I am excited to be the new owner of 1970 2002. I searched for months to find a solid and straight car. With the help of Mario and Chris at VSR, I pulled the trigger on an AZ car and am enjoying the car immensely. Previous to this car, my toy/weekend car was a 2003 NSX. The car was just so nice and had such low millage. I ended up not driving it very often as a result which was a sin. So...in September I sold it on BAT and said to my self that my next weekend car was going to be a driver. My plan for this car is drive the wheels off of it and enhance its braking, suspension and power. The car is not stock today and so I don't feel bad making a hot rod / back road carver out of it. I'm still getting to know the car and figuring out what the right course of action is. I would very much like to meet up with fellow owners to share in your experience. The timing is bad with the winter weather looming but if anyone is planning on taking their cars out over the thanksgiving weekend, I would very much like to meet up. Excuse the bad pictures, I haven't had the chance to take any good ones yet but these will give you the general flavor of the car today. Thanks for viewing my post, Brett Windham, NH

  21. Wow! That's amazing. It's next to impossible to get a key copied correctly, never-mind made from the #. Thanks for sharing! Scott Sislane
  22. I didn't. But I called these guys and gave them my codes (driver door and trunk). I had keys in my hand within 30 minutes (it's a 30 min drive). Huge thumbs up!
