50 + 2: The Quadfecta

The 50 + 2 Celebration is less than a month away. What is it that we’re celebrating at this event on September 11, 2022? Quadfecta may be a made-up word, but it means we have four main things to celebrate.

50th Anniversary of the Chapter
Our chapter was founded in May 1970. We planned to celebrate the chapter’s 50th Anniversary in 2020, but Covid interrupted our anniversary year and a lot of other things. So, two years late, we’re celebrating our 50th Anniversary plus 2 years.

50th Anniversary of BMW M
BMW Motorsports, now known as BMW M, was founded in 1972. This year BMW M GmbH, BMW AG, and BMW of North America are all celebrating the 50th Anniversary of BMW M and BMW M Cars. For that reason, we’re putting a special emphasis on having lots of you BMW M Car owners bring your cars to LeMay—America’s Car Museum on September 11.

20th Anniversary of PRO3
PRO3 Racing celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year. This home-grown racing series is enjoying continued popularity. It is the biggest class in local club racing and is the gateway class to professional racing for many. If the club’s High Performance Driving Events aren’t enough for you, PRO3 is the next step.

10th Anniversary of LeMay—America’s Car Museum
While this isn’t a BMW Club anniversary, it is an important part of our host’s history as an institution and the important part it plays in our area’s car hobby. The weekend of 50 + 2 will be filled with parties, fireworks, and a ceremony during our show.

Any and all BMWs are welcome at the 50 + 2 Celebration. Our car doesn’t have to be a show car; most will be members’ daily drivers.
