Thank you, it is actually a liquid wrap called PlastiDip. It is sprayed on with a HVLP spray gun and can be peeled off in about an hour. Freedom to change the color when I want and more protection from road dings and such. The particular color is Deep Sea Blue. The only downside is that the wrap has a bit of an orange peel texture which is a characteristic of being a rubber wrap coating. Link to comment
BluGnat 0 Posted August 12, 2016 So...I was driving to work this morning, and passed a sweet blue '02. I was in my ugly '95 Subaru wagon (burgundy), and I rolled the window down and gave the driver a thumbs-up. It dawned on me after I got to work, that that car was more than likely the one I saw on the BMW2002FAQ FB page the day before... So assuming it was you, have to ask you - did you do it yourself, or did you have someone do it? If the latter, where did you get it done? Looks like blue's out for my color option now, but I would LOVE to try the PlastiDip. People do it on their Jeeps (our other hobby) but I don't know of any place local. Any advice? Thank you!
