What an EPIC road trip and back! May 22, 2016

Pictures do not do this car justice... It's one of those things where you have to see it to believe it.

Tesoro came from humble beginnings from foster home to foster home for the past 40 years and when I got him to be my keeper 02, he got into that accident with that negligent tow truck driver.

But here we are now doing reassembly with some major hardcore pieces... I'm beyond ecstatic over the progress! You can really tell the care and craftsmanship that Le has overhauled into this build and I'm so grateful for it all!

It's one thing when the person who is working on your car sends you pics of the progress and a whole other experience when you see that progress in person!

More progress to share as Tesoro is getting ready to come home soon! Since the paint now has cured, we still need to get the car wet/color sanded so you'll see the 'orange peel skin' but the paint is like glass... No waves and you can see a pretty clear reflection...!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Great seeing all the Vintage pics and Bavaria Tour pics from those who attended! Happy 02ing!

Can you say factory showroom!

Lisa your car has undergone a truly amazing restoration, I think my keyboard is going to short out from all the drool just looking at photos you have been providing.

I can only hope that someday it will be possible to restore my little '02 at least half as well.  Do we dare even want to know the costs, whatever it may be it is well worth it!

Awesome job and looking forward to seeing the "final" (in quotes because we never really finish tweeking our little beloved '02s) results.  Hopefully, I can see Tesoro in person someday.

A more perfect car, there will not nor has ever been. That engraved shift knob is really something.
