Spent all day outside working on the car. In my last post I mentioned the deliberate flaws in my paint job, so today I took a few photos to give y’all a closer look. Definitely not for everyone, but I’m having fun experimenting with different techniques.
Below: Hand painted logo/livery. The “Slang” logo is a tribute to a good friend who passed away in 2020. Slang was his design studio’s name.
Below: I actually used a grey epoxy primer, but I wanted to give it a weathered look with red oxide primer burning through . So I sprayed red primer in a couple areas and then lightly shot the single stage paint over it, then cut and buffed the paint. I was going to hand paint the meatball but went with a matte white vinyl sticker instead
Below: More of the same technique.
Below: hand painted Alpina logo and more burn through in the paint.
Below: weathered Slang Studio logo.
Below: snuck the wagon in for good measure.
