Carpet & Seats

Here are the photos of the new GAHH carpet installed. The seats are back from the upholstery shop with new BMW 'horsehair' pads & headrest escutcheons in the front and either an older set of unused 'horsehair' or new foam pads in the rear. Included older pictures of the interior to show the color difference.

Like the vinyl on the seat bases and the top of the rear seat upright. Nice job overall.

Nice job.  Did the upholstery shop make the covers or did you buy pre-made from a vendor such as World Upholstery?  Where did you source the horsehair pads for the fronts?  They are really getting pricey like everything 2002.

Original vinyl. Bit the bullet and went with new pads from BMW, they were close to $2K for fronts & rears.

Yea, $2K is the price I've seen for the 4 pads.  They really look nice.

Beautiful interior pics.

I'm new to 2002faq, so I apologize if I'm in the wrong place or not following protocol.  I just purchased a '73 tii and starting to refresh the interior - seats for now, but will likely follow with door panels.  I see three providers:  World Upholstery, GAHH, and Aardvarc.  Please give me some direction on quality of product and professionalism.  Is one the preferred vendor of choice?  Thank you for your help.

My door panels were in good shape on the vinyl & mylar, I did use the Aardvarc plywood backing panels which I did myself. The carpet is from GAHH and was installed by Vintage Sports & Restoration in Bedford NH.
