Repent and Ye will be saved

Ok, so I put in an MSD 6A a while ago, I was in a bit of hurry with the intent of coming back later and tidying it up after I knew that it would work.   So now is the time I fixed it up.   Here is what I pulled out of it.   I know I am not the only one to have done something to come back and fix up later... but still what a pile of shit job I did.   Everything is now soldered, shrink wrapped, taped and zip tied.

I am off to finish the wiring today, purge the fuel lines to get the residue of rubber out of them from putting the ends  Perhaps the first start today although I have a meeting that I can't avoid that will eat up some time.

Also, I took the opportunity to remove the wiring for the smog stuff.

Feels good to get all of that crap cleared out of there, doesn't it? And don't worry too much about your first attempt issue, I generally ended up doing each section of my Megasquirt wiring about 3 times on average before I was happy with things!  Just how wiring goes, bit of an iterative process!

I spent a lot of time tucking it all away.  It is done and I got it started.   The linkage sucks, so before I do anything else I need to get the heim joints installed.... long story.  I am tired.  I want to go to bed, but it feels good to know at least it runs.

Dude!  It's Tuesday already (I think even in Hawaii by now)!  How about a video of the thing idling at least?

Making progress, im impressed. Couldn't really tell from the earlier pictures, but did the adapter plate work nicely to convert the Holley to the 2 barrel intake?

Looking much better now.  Proper wiring is the single most important part of having a good and successful experience when converting to EFI from a carb.  -Luke H.

Yes, the adapter plate worked a charm.  The metric bolts that I got are almost identical to the ones on the kit.  The picture of the bag that you see has the Brafasco part number on it.   Brafasco is a bolt a nut supplier in Canada.  A very very extensive catalogue of fasteners ... like if you need to fix your nuclear reactor you go to them... no joke.

The fastener heads were a little smaller, so I put just a small dab of sealant levelled off flush to take up the space between the adapter and the carb.  I am not sure I would do that again. Judging from the fit, I don't think it is necessary, and sealant on the gaskets is normally a no-no.

Posted!  Enjoy.  I promise I will do a drive video with the Hero 5.

I managed to get the smog stuff off.  Just did a big fat 12Ga wire from fuse #4 to tie in the MSD and 123.
