Unboxing and anticipated problems, but nothing big.

So I quickly realized that the adapter for the Holley to Weber is for an approximately 36MM bore,  the Sniper is 40mm bore, no biggie, I have to get the intake off and hogged out, so I will get my guy to make it bigger at the same time.  I am pulling off the intake tonight (hopefully) to get my guy to work on it tomorrow. 

 

The height seems ok, the EFI with the adapter is about 10CM to the air cleaner mounting surface, I measured the Weber to be a bit over 11CM, If I were to include the adapter I use, it would add about another CM on top of that because my adapter sits proud of the lip of my 32/36.  So air cleaner clearance seems ok. 

 

So it is kinda like putting a 40x40 DGV Weber carb... The question will still remain if it will flow properly at idle. Because the Sniper is synchronous and the 32/36 is progressive, It will be that more fun to tune. 

 

Here are some measurements of the height of the sniper vs a regular 32/36.   Enjoy,  I will post some pre and post pics of the intake.

I'm interested to see the results  It should be impressive

Regarding idle and low end going from a progressive 32/36 to the syncro two barrel  , it should similar to going to a 38/38 Weber

which actually is an improvement.  After putting a 38/38 on my slightly moded motor I would never go back to the 32/36

The height measurement photos are puzzling though   Looks like you are comparing the top of the 32/36  when the air filter actually mates much lower ??  Maybe I'm not following what you are saying

The only thing I find worrisome is that it may run too rich for a 4 cylinder.  This thing is rated to 350hp, but we'll see how it works.  

 

Also,  where are the fuel injectors located? Ive been pictures of this unit but have no idea lol

The injectors consist of a ring of holes drilled just below the butterfly.  The FItech uses a typical injector.

One thing that I didn't think of is how close the TPS sensor in relation to the coolant pipe when the assembly is on.  I gotta swing by my fabricator dude with all the bits.  No biggie he can just extend/change the location of the inlet (or outlet).

Don't worry about the throttle size, it's not TOO big.  2x 40mm butterflies are just over 2500mm^2, which is actually slightly less than the 2640mm^2 for the 58mm single butterfly from the 325iS TB has that I and many others run on the 318 manifold. The trick is to carefully set up the linkage so that the throttle plates don't open too fast just off of idle; you want to get the 'progressive-ness' out of the tip-in rate.
