New KoogleWerks parts update

The last couple months have been a blur! Since the BA02 Brisbane swap n show, we've been back in the shop busy filling orders and working on new prototyping projects. Both Left and Right hand drive gauge options, A/C console options, driving light mounting solutions, etc.( Some of which I've posted up on Instagram and/or even leaked over onto FB)

...But I haven't updated with a post for the FAQ in quite some time.

The update goes as follows:

We are working hard to fill the requests coming in for more interior parts, console variations and options. This has us rolling out new products at least a couple times a month. In the background, we are working diligently on other parts. Core motorsport parts. chassis, induction, etc. these will be released and into production at a slower rate, due to the complexity and desire to "get it right the first time" as well as tooling/setup cost.  Every bit of "extra" time or money has been directed into making it a reality. This has been the goal all along....and it feels really great to see coming together!

Thank you for your support, we could not have done it without this community believing in our goals and helping us to achieve them!

love the double din set up, actually working on a mocking up a similar set for mine except it'll be double din, bmw clock/cubby, with a custom switch panel on the bottom. wish I had your equipment...

Wow love them all - going to have to check with website for the double din, fog light mounts and gauge. Curious if there is enough room to remount the VIN plate on that new piece.

Look forward to seeing more in the future

Yes, there definitely is room for the VIN plate to be relocated... I just knew not everyone would want to swap it over, so I did not design it with holes or a recess... but it's an easy drill/rivet install!

Rear battery holder??

I've got a plan to "double back" on that project... after making a couple in the prototype stage, it became apparent that I'd have to simplify the design and/or charge more... I'd like to keep it at an accessible price point... so I've just got to get more efficient with making them!

I think it would sell well, I look at my TEP one sitting in my shed but just can’t bring myself to mount it by drilling the shock mounts.

The way yours attaches is a much better idea, and having a Tii moving the battery would make life a lot easier at oil change time!

i will follow this with interest!

cheers.

I did not see this part on your web site?   Is it coming.  I’d be interested.  Thanks!

yes, this is available on the website! all the console face plate options are under 'gauge/stereo panels' and there is a drop-down menu with options.

This, right here...I never liked the TEP drilling thing or the marine batter box version either & also having a Tii, getting the battery out of there makes things much easier under the hood.

Nice bits here, many are very clever too. I am not ready for them just yet but will explore when I am.

Thanks for making this happen!

Yes guys, I agree 100% with the “drill holes in your shock towers” thing!...oh and another update with new parts coming soon...like these “bolt-on retrofit tii (& Alpina A4s) airbox mounts

Two new 3” air inlet adapter options: left side is a “no cutting or drilling design that requires a battery relocation, right side incorporates an engineered bell-mouth design to optimize velocity (requires cutting nose panel)  both come as a “kit” with flexible heigh heat hose and clamps.

...& a sneak peak on another prototype project nearing production: it’s overbuilt. It looks different. It’s our “special needs” strut tower brace, designed to fit/clear any and all possible engine/induction variations (even allows the A4s airbox top & filter to be serviced  without removal)

This I can get behind.  I'm in for a set if I can find a pair of brackets for the air box itself...

Looks like your current setup has the airbox bracket supported by/tied into the strut tower brace baseplate? that's kinda a slick way to go (if it supports it well enough) ...as the brackets I've made are dimensionally identical to OE tii, but require drilling into the inner fender to install (or as OE, they can be welded & painted)

That mounting method is a design long used. Originally by Alpina, and others since.  Mine is cut from a sketch I got from a man with an original Alpina piece. Its 1/8" steel and plenty strong.  It hovers over the box over Tii booster by about 1/4".  I presume the Tii, and earlier Ti air box body mounting points are the same, but the boxes themselves are different.  The Tii is smaller in diameter.  I have both in the garage and tested the Tii brackets that hit the body on my Ti box.. no go.

If you want a winner as a part offering, make stacks that connect Weber/Dellorto  carbs to the boots of the Ti air box.  (Can I get an Amen?!)

The original connecting stacks were for Solex carburetors, and they have a different footprint. So the stacks don't bolt to anything but Solex...  Its a bish of a solution that has been the bane of many a Ti air box owner..   And to add to the good times, if you happen to be using a IE or Korman short intake manifold, it becomes even more fun..  so two designs, one for BMW manifolds and one for the latter would be the ticket. The ID of the rubber boots is 60mm, if I remember correctly.  So a potential new part would be good for 40 or 45mm carbs.

The 1600Ti/2002Ti stacks differ from the NK variety in that they angle up. So be aware of that..

We have been very busy the last couple months (beside the holidays and some other side-tracked projects) developing a few new parts.

I like the look of exposed velocity stacks as much as the next guy, but lets face it: Clean air is highly underrated... & when you've spent thousands of dollars on a motor.. (and do not have a "race team budget" to afford a refresh every season) you cannot afford to put a piece of mesh over an open stack. dust and dirt are everywhere, just take a wide line and drop a wheel off the pavement.

Enter the "cast aluminum DCOE velocity elbow air filter adapter" (a lot to swallow, I know!) This is similar (and a direct replacement) to the part supplied by Alpina for the A3 and other (E9 6 cyl) airboxes.

It is Designed for ample flow to supply a 48mm side draft carburetor (weber, mikuni, solex, dellorto, etc.) and available in sizes cut to "port match" a 40, 42, 44, 45, & 48mm carb.  This part will work on virtually ANY side draft equipped vehicle that has limited filter clearance.

the first batch of these are finished & almost ready to list on the website.... followed by a couple different filter housing options I am working on right now, to compliment them. they will also retrofit to existing ITG, UNI, K&N and other filters with minimal effort.
