My "know how" consists solely of the brute force method. I was attacking that stuff with a narrow putty knife, a heat gun, a wire wheel on the end of a cordless drill, a Dremel, a chisel, and damn near every other tool in my toolbox. 

That stuff is like an unholy mix of roofing tar, bubblegum, glue, and Satan's snot.
