Happy DERBY Friday! February 10, 2017

Here is a short video of the exterior of Derby and some pics after I cleaned him up a little...

I've noticed in pictures that the color is different from angles and lighting....

I absolutely am in LOVE with this car... it's so pure, unadulterated, simplistic beauty that makes it so attractive. Such a different caliber from a car like Tesoro... but both very special to me.

More pics coming soon!

Enjoy!

LOL - you have to "clean him up".   Looks very nice to me Lisa.

What's in the storage container?  More NLA parts?

I would like to put the same grey/houndstooth centers in the seats of my '67 CS.

Thanks for the love guys! I appreciate it so much! I'm glad you guys can see the beauty in this car... its really easy to just keep it the way it is.... timeless .... ;-)

Zinz... the interior seats do not have houndstooth centers... but instead its the original grey fabric from the factory... they only came two tone colors in eurospec cars...

But your 67 CS would look fab with a two tone center! I say.. go for it! ;-)

I'll be waiting for your interior pics, as my CS is a Euro car, as well.

Sweet - a derby brother to my chamonix.

...but...is that hood trim correct, or is it just the picture?

Cris

Hey there Cris! Do you have a 67?

The hood trim is the normal 2002 belt line trim... ? Its not the early 1600 unobtanium embossed trim that it should have... but if you know of an early embossed hood beltline trim I would love the contact!

She looks absolutely stunning Lisa!!
Congratulations...  :P
So pure & unadorned.  I just adore these very early 1600-2's.  Heh... but with a Derby '66 in my garage, I'm probably biased...  ;)

Btw. over on your thread on the 02forum, I've added info on all the original Derby grey 1600-2's I know of.

And if you're after an embossed nose trim, I know a guy in Germany who previously had repro's made up.  I'll ask if he's got any more in stock, and if not, whether he would consider making another batch...

Looking at such a great example of THE original -02 it's easy to see it how it made such a success story in BMW history.

Damn, that is nice!  You are starting a nice little collection of cars. It is pictures like these that make me wish I didn't put flares on my car.. :(
