Last Event of the Season

SAC SCCA Event at Mather

Last weekend was the second annual Shriner Children's Hospital Charity Event hosted by Sacramento Chapter of SCCA. KGB-Racing car number 26 was present to compete in FSP on Saturday June 10th with the best time of 55.5 seconds on the second run. The course resembled a 5 leaf clover with a lot of surface changes going from concrete to asphalt. 2 member of BMW 2002 FAQ (http://www.bmw2002faq.com), Norm and Ali (index.php?option=com_gallery2 Itemid=29 g2_itemId=1357), have joined Steve K.

Bay Area 02 Show: a great success!

First of all I have to thank guys at EDGE Motorworks (http://www.edgemotorworks.com)for getting the car ready in time. With new front pads and rotors and new wheel studs all the way around, the car made it to show. Presented in its race gear with all of the stickers and on race rubber it was a nice site. There were over 100 cars at show ranging from concourse restorations to 35 year old daily driven originals. 6 factory Turbos, as many Tourings, one convertible, and an electric '02 we

Repair progress

Not much progress has been done in the last week, mostly parts research and search. New studs are coming from Ireland Engineering (http://www.bmw2002.com/). The old studs were Moroso 7/16 diameter and 3 long. the new studs are once again metric. They are made by ARP. Thread is 12x1.5 and the length is 65mm. Another change int he car will be the front brakes. Thanks to the recommendation from Jeremy i an going away from Hawk Blue bads since they seem to overheat and cook my rotors in
