New Vintage BMW Racing Series

BMW 2002 Driving Enthusiasts:

This email is to inform you that BMW CCA Club Racing is standing-up a Vintage BMW Racing Series in 2023, with the possibility of having its first race (as a trial run) at Summit Point Motorsports Park on Sep 30-Oct 2, 2022.  All BMWs that are E30 series or earlier and meet BMW Club Racing safety standards will be eligible to race in this vintage series.  Vintage racecars would be classed using the structure in the current BMW Club Racing rulebook, or under the new Power-to-Weight classes that are being established for 2022 (This means that our 2002s could race in M-Sport, M- Prepared, or D-mod depending on the level of modifications, or in the new Power-to-Weight classes).

The goals of the proposed Vintage Racing Series are:

1. Offer BMW driving enthusiasts a venue to race their cars in a relaxed environment where the emphasis is on camaraderie and vehicle-preservation
2. Keep the classing structure as open as possible to attract the largest number of vintage BMWs

We believe this new racing series will be well-supported by many BMW vintage driving enthusiasts like yourselves, but wanted to gauge your level of interest, and collect feedback from those of you that may be interested in participating.
