electrical and ignition door light switch

Hi

I have installed my led bmw logo projection lights in the door but having hard time where to connect them.

I want them to light up when I open the door which takes me to the door switch,.

This thing is hard to pull out without disconnecting.

Is there access from the inner side?

I currently have carpet glued there and before I tear it apart wondering if someone can advise the best way to access the door switch so I can connect my led logo lights there.

pull out the switch or take the carpet down and fish out the wire for a tap

If you have a later car with the key-in-ign buzzer, there are two terminals on the driver's door switch--you'll have to wiggle it a little to get it out through its mounting hole.  Be patient and it'll come out.

 

The reward is having a second terminal to plug you new light into.

I have 1972.

I tried to wiggle the terminals but the switch doesn't seem to come out more than half an inch which is not enough to tap into the terminals.

Keep wiggling.  The wires attach to the switch at an angle or have covers and you have to get the terminals to clear the opening.  Or pull down the piece of carpeting to get a better look, as esty suggested.
