Weber Prescription Diagram?

Hi folks, just putting some time in on my 75 MacZooZ. Car has a 32/26 Weber and I wanted to see how the jetting was and how much I could get out of it before putting on the DCOEs that I stole from my other '02 ZooZ. Put the car on the dyno with a wide band hooked up and the car is going very lean (stoich) above 3k rpm, running 145 secondary main, 180 airs on both and 140 primary main. I would expect to need smaller jets than the weber prescription, as I'm at 4700' altitude. I'm rambling. My real question is: the prescription says to plug the secondary enrichment hole at the top of the carb, see diagram. I can't get the diagram open with firefox or IE. Anybody have it? Thanks!

I believe the secondary enrichment hole is the brass orifice just above the left float as seen in the picture.

I did not go that route. I used the prescription I found suggested by Carl Nelson. He said to use an F7 emulsion tube instead of the F50's I had in there. I found the diagram above on the internet. It is for a different car but shows where the jets are. I have listed my initial settings, C. D. iesel's and Carl Nelson's prescription. I went with Carl's but changed both mains to 140 because it was a little too lean on my AFR gauge. It seems to be working good. My only complaint is that cruising at a constant speed the AFR will sometimes go into the 17's to 18's. As soon as I change the throttle it will drop back down. My altitude is only about 500' to 600' in Chicago so you may have to make adjustments for 4700'.

Thanks, guys, that's what I needed. I also just discovered my old weber book wanted 39mm to bottom of float when resting lightly on the ball, but more modern info from Redline says 18 from gasket to top of float, so that may give me the fuel I need. I know I'm lean not just from the wideband, but I picked up 5 hp putting the foam filter on, which richened it a little. Car is making about 75 corrected at the wheels right now, hopefully float height will give me some more fuel and power. I'll report back.

I also just discovered my old weber book wanted 39mm to bottom of float when resting lightly on the ball, but more modern info from Redline says 18 from gasket to top of float, so that may give me the fuel I need. 

 Whoa, easy there on the float level. I think that would set the float way too high for a DGV carb. From the Weber Carburetor book by Pat Braden, the float should be set at 41mm without a gasket for the brass float. The plastic one is set to 35mm.

 

Since the float hangs from the top of the body, a smaller float level will raise the float letting more fuel in.

My weber book says 39. I'll give 35 a shot as the 18 number seems ludicrous. At 39 there just isn't much fuel in the bowl to my eye. Of course I'm more of a fuel injection guy. I normally only see floats and bowls in toilets and swamp coolers :-)

If anybody's eyes haven't glazed over yet, setting the floats to 35mm gave no more fuel or power. The car goes from a nice 12/5/1 afr at start of run to stoich, then leaner than stoich by 3500 rpm and power drops like a rock. I'm guessing my foam filter must be crap, because it actually adds some fuel when I put it on, giving me 5 hp. What kind of rwhp numbers do people see on stock engines?

I have an email into Bud Pauge the Weber guy at Redline to see next steps. I have no larger mains, nor smaller airs to try.
