Moving Sale

Recommended Posts

Will be moving out of State soon and need to reduce my parts stash.

Have doors, hoods, trunk lids, fenders, rims, E21 Recaro seats, E24 rear seats. Couple of motors worthy of a rebuild, and several unknown condition heads. Loads of belt trim and misc small items.

May also need to lose an 02 or two!

Not in a position to ship.

Parts located in Elmendorf (20 mile SE of San Antonio).

Let me know if there's any interest, and if you need a pic of anything.

Les, What?

Sorry to hear that you're leaving.

I'd like to come by in the next week or so to come see you all!

Hi Gilbert,

Yes, the heat (for one thing) finally got to us. It's like being under house arrest from May to October. Looking to retire next year and don't want to sit in the house for half the year.

Come on by, I'm home until early September, but can disappear as I'm "on call" so to speak.

Les.

Can't blame you for leaving due to the heat. I'm getting tired of it too. Every August/September seems to be hotter the the year before. I'll drop a line before I head over.

Best.

Any chance you're moving to VA and want to bring a few parts with you? :)

If all goes to plan, will be moving to Tennessee (about an hour south of Nashville).

Parts that remain (probably most) will go with me.

Sorry to hear you're leaving Texas, Les.  I hope you will be able to speak well of us when you leave. Looks like the drive from your new home over to Eureka Springs for Mid America will be very nice!

Perhaps Gilbert and I can drive down together?  I have a truck to take any big things... I've been looking for a good M10 to build up...or at least a good 2.0 liter crank to go with the 318i motor I have in the garage. Maybe you have an LSD?

Hey Les,

I'll help you move the stuff out of the garage.

When do I need to show up? Do I need a car trailer?

I'm going to buy a 68 GT6+ triumph in San Antonio soon. Let me know your time line. Sound like a road tip!

Les.

You folks still here? Or did you move up north already......

Hi Gilbert,

Due to lack of interest, I have junked the parts I do not wish to keep, and the rest is ready for the move in 2 weeks.

Cheers,

Les

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
