...since you brought that up, my most recent post in that thread is in need of an update.

 

Slicing off the flange on the bottom and moving it to the inside of the remaining flange does not seem like the way to go.  The final fit is much better with it on the outside, which means adding a filler piece to it, to increase the overall 'OD".

 

I am about to try to make some more progress on that one and will update the thread when I do.  I am glad that was useful to you.  Funny, I thought the second time around would be super easy, but it still takes some fiddling to make it work.  Maybe the third time will be super easy ; )

You know, I've had 3 2002's and a 1602 dating back to 79, as well as a Bavaria, 320i, 2800CS and an M roadster.  I'm 64 it's supposed to get easier. It hasn't though with each car I've gone into greater detail.
