Incidentally on my '66-68 1600-2's where the mirror is mounted on the front of the door... I have not heard of that problem of not being able to open the wing window all the way. Mine open just fine... In some seat positions though the pillar for the wing blocks some of the mirror. In my 6 footer seating position I end up looking through the wing glass at the mirror...
I added a pass side early mirror and though I have seen factory photos showing the pass side ones mounted farther back like the later position I mounted mine forward on the door for sake of uniformity. It's at its max adjustment to get it into proper viewing position for me.

P.S. my beater Granada 1600-2 will be at the Bay Area 02 Swap & Show on Saturday, in all it's faded patina'd glory. Maybe I'll even have my Sting-Rays on the roof again..... :)
P.P.S Mike, I got to meet Brian Morgan last Friday at Thunder Hill where he was doing a few articles including one on the 1800TI/SA I work on for Pat de Witt. It was a pleasure to finally meet him, and get to work with him a little.
