should pay for a hood repaint. I had the roof and deck lid of my 73 repainted this spring after something washed off the roof of a building I park near at work and put huge dull spots all over those two areas. My comprehensive paid for the whole thing.
If you don't have comprehensive, ask the body shop if they would paint after you did the sanding and trim removal. That'll save you quite a bit of $$ as it's the prep work that takes time. You'll probably have to take all the new paint off, as there appears to be an adhesion problem between the new paint and what is underneath.
