do the little things about automotive stuff drive you crazy. I make no presumptions about my automotive knowledge. Quite the contrary in fact. I mean, if you ask me how a motor does its thing I'm going to tell you it goes round and round and comes out there...and there, and sometimes...there!
The other day I asked a question about how to deal with the vacuum line from the booster to the intake with this Lynx kit I've put on. Yesterday I stopped down at Matt McGinn's to check out progress on the turbo and I asked if he had any suggestions. Matt trots me over to Jim who kindly informs me that the booster, master cylinder can be disconnected and the booster rotated 180 and reconnected, ingeniously solving my problem. I immediately check for furtive glances between Jim and Matt which would indicate they are toying with me and detecting none I'm thinking, "Cool, I can do that." So after dinner this evening I go down and in about 20 min have this chore about wrapped up. Except for the pin which connects the riser out of the pedal box to the booster. The pin is no problem. Its that damned clip that that won't go back on. I know...I can reverse the pin. Cool! At which pint I drop the damned pin down the pedal box frame channel and clatter, clatter down to the pedal box "area". Too late and too pissed off to jack the car up this evening so this simple task will now take somewhere in the neighborhood of 24 hrs to complete. I think I'll blame Jim. Thanks, Jim!
