Steve, Yup, I use a torque wrench, and an extender and calc it. Tried by gut feel one time, and it was tight, but obviously wasn't tight enough, and it got loose and stripped. Never did it the other way, and overtightened it. But gotta give the BMW engineers credit to figure how tight exactly to make that big F'n nut.
