What happened? How do they ban people, exactly? Do they ever give a reason?
Let me say I will gladly be your voice on this to the roadfly board- those who are not banned need to know what's going on.
Peace, brother- we all appreciate your work for next Saturday.

I'm just mad about the fact that we made it so simple for them. All they had to do was just let things take their course, but they decided to be control freaks instead. The language was more of a statement than anything else. It's so wierd because they had a good thing going and just threw it away by not listening to a few simple complaints.
Idiots.

Take a pill dude, at least there is no censorship here. If these guys can compete with roadfly, it's better for all of us.

Subject: You know, I've been spending time on a Fiat board quite a bit
|

lately, as I've also been a long time Fiat & Abarth (600 and 850 rear engine models) enthusiast. They don't really post any rules, and everyone pretty much behaves themselves of their own accord. They do have a boardmaster monitoring things, but they don't have 'big brother' breathing down your back banning people and vendors, stopping you from posting things for sale on e-bay, giving leads on were to find the best prices on stuff or stopping vendors from postings specials on parts. In fact, you quickly learn what the 'culture' is and what is, and isn't acceptable. That forum gets a lot of traffic and is quite nice to visit.
Now [oops]fly.com, on the other hand, IMHO, has really changed for some reason in the last year or so. I recall a lot of 'regulars' that left in the last year. I think that says something right there. I have to assume it's big business politics that's driving the change. To me, it was getting kind of annoying with 'Paul' with you know who, stepping in all the time. I thought it was rather brazen recently when he stated "so that's why you called me for a price" when someone posted info. on his e-bay listing on a Tii manifold. Geesh, what harm was done? What a jerk (arrogant a$$hole)I thought. Is Paul's place the only place you're allowed to buy Bimmer parts from?
I think things will settle down here in short order. Keep up the enthusiasm and moral I say!!

I'll post a separate and detailed explanaition later today regarding the whole NOBLE mess. Let's just say that we are not out to deceive anyone, nor are we in any way trying to control the Roadfly (or any other) board.
I'll explain things later when I can really type a complete answer. (phones still ringing off the hook today)

Ok Guys - here's the deal,
The Noble name was ressurected in order to allow us to carry other parts besides just our normal staple of BMW stuff. Some of the BMW prices may appear different than our normal Maximillian Importing prices because the software only factors in a pre-set price formula. Often the "cost" factored in is different from our actual cost from BMW in Germany, Bosch, Elring, or other manufacturers through which our parts arrive. SOME of the prices reflected on the NOBLE site would LOSE us money!
Please don't panic - we're still the same old Maximillian Importing - with 2 sales guys, 2 warehouse guys, a book keeper, old fashioned microfiche machines, 6 phone lines, small office in the boonies, importing our BMW parts directly from Germany in most cases - and please make no mistake: WE ARE STILL BRUTALLY loyal to the 2002!
We are enthusiasts like YOU guys - and are lucky enough to earn a modest living selling parts for the cars we love.
If you find different prices on the NOBLE site - let us know about it. The web page and set up is completely new to all of us here - and we're working to get the bugs out of it. We were simply offered the site from one of our suppliers - at no charge - and thought it silly to pass up the oppurtunity. I always request that my BMW guys contact me directly - as they'll get PERSONAL INFORMED SERVICE - and often BETTER prices - but some folks still prefer the e-commerce approach - and prefer NOT to speak with a sales guy when they shop online. For those folks - we offer the NOBLE site.
For those of you concerned about the banning of other advertisers on the Roafdfly boards - please be assured that we are NOT responsible for this. We could care less about other vendors - inasmuch as they have every right to sell the same parts we carry. We have NOT EVER contacted the Roadfly administrators to ban, edit, or delete ANY posting from ANY company or individual. EVER!
We have NO interest in predatory capitalism. We have made NO effort or request to the board administrators that ANY company be barred, banned, or punished for posting sales, information, links, or any other advertising.
As for my seeming arrogant when asked to look up a price for a part that the caller was going to sell himself - please allow me to explain that when the same people call me up for technical advice, information, and "value checking" time and time again - but then choose to purchase their parts at ANOTHER vendor - it displays to me - a total lack of respect for what I do.
RESPECT for MY JOB
I am not some soda jerk pouring Pepsi and slinging hamburgers. I hustle to answer one or more of SIX incoming phone lines every day - sometimes answering over 70-100 calls in a single day! Like all of you at your jobs - I must account for and budget MY time. I love what I do, and I LOVE to help out other 02 owners (afterall - I am an enthusiast FIRST - and this job pays to support my habit and my heating bills!) - but like you guys - I have a JOB to do, and that happens to be SELLING PARTS.
We strive to provide the best OEm parts at the most competitive prices - but we feel that the knowledge, personal 2002 enthusiasm, and experience you receive when you order a part from us IS a value added to your purchase.

Look sales is a bitch of a business to be in. I Bounced forehead against a few walls in that racket for a few years too! You always end up spending the most time on the worst customers and end up feeling lousy that you cant take care of the better ones like youd like to. In my case it burned me out and Im not going back to it! I may actually be using my law degree in the near future!! (But not as a lawyer! :D) I'll let you know more details as things gel in the future. Keep on keepin on!!
