well, Im back with those gremlins. I had eliminated most of them previously, but just recently Through trying to eliminate Noise from the alternator (megasquirt is getting noise on voltage Signals). I tried testing a capacitor on the line coming off of the altenator.

Well anyway, after runnig the car with the capacitor, and turning it off, when I turned the ignition on again, nothing. no fuel pump, no lights no nothing, only my VDO volt gauge reading 12v.

test 1.
I did a hotwire directly from the battery to the fuel pump to get it buzzing, and BAM. system gets energy, and it the ign lights go on, and the fuel pump buzzes on it's own without the hotwire anymore.

Well, after driving the car all day, I tried the capacitor again, with a different unit, (getting back from the electrojnics store.

Same thing happens. except for the system doesnt hold the charge, nor the starter works when I crank the key. I jumpered the starter and it worked., and I jumpered the fuel pump, and it worked. However it wasnt holdin the charge after I took of the hot wire like before.

no fuses blown hmmm. What was wierd is that when I put the hotwire on to the fuel pump positive it powered the entire rest of the car, lights, blinkers etc.

Wat is going on, that is preventing the system from working?
