He taped up the entire front of his car, hood area, valance, around the windshield, etc.
Good protection with little consequence.
Strap on bras can dull the paint in friction areas.
I need to see how the spray and press on clear bras work and look. |
That was John Calvin from Utah. I used his method driving my Euro M5 up from Fl. You need to make sure there is plenty of wax on the car before using the 3m painter's tape. I have used the spray on bra that Griots sells and thought the tape was better. No need to get too nuts with it. I used about 3" on the nose and I covered the spoiler and used a strip around the windshield. Worked fine. _________________ 85 Euro M5, 85 635CSi, E30 M3, 4.6is, 02less at the moment

Blunt -
I've never tried it, but on the Griot's site, they are spraying it on a Porsche. Either 1) It works well or 2) it's not their Porsche.
I'm probably too chicken to try it on my 02, but aesthetically, if you mask and then spray it looks better than the blue tape to me.
Bill -
I had a friend that had the clear bra on his '00 911 (996). It looks really good, and works great. The only problem is, you either have to be an ace to cut the stuff to shape and lay it (the one he had was done by Porsche), or have the kit and have it professionally installed. I don't think anyone makes a clear bra kit for a 2002. If they did, that's not a bad option.
