Subject: My new baby -- another 02 in NY

Hi everyone,

Bought my 2nd 02 a little while ago. The 1st one my brother wrecked a few years ago. This one is from Sac (thanks to whoever posted the link in the f/s forum). She's at Fremont Foreign Auto (who are awesome, by the way) bringing the mechanicals up to speed. The repairs include:

new heater core, water pump, hoses, belts, tune up, drive train, tie rods, wheel bearings, back up lights, bights switch and stalk, and some misc stuff. The valve cover comes off in a few days where the guides will get a good inspection (a little scared for that one). The good news is that compression is good (less than 10% b/t cyls) and there is almost no rust.

At this point, the repairs are gonna be less than $3k. I picked it up for a very good price. So, I'm very happy so far.

In the spring she's off to NYC, where she'll live in a garage. If anyone knows of a good shop in New York let me know (christopher.m.wise at gmail.com). Anyone on the east coast, drop me a line to chat or get together to see cars. Someone in Chelsea has a nice tii, there is a 74 in Clinton Hill that I've seen a few times. If you're out there say hi!

Yes there are a surpising number of '02s in NYC. There is a bunch of us around. We sort of had an informal group, but we've been super busy and have not done much this year. caint remember his name but i picked it up from redhook brookyln 2yrs ago 2500 hundred pretty clean, great car was supposedly second owner, first owner was his friend said it came from ca tend to believe minimal rust.

yeah i think his name was randy i remember he was in a band gave me a cd n every thing but no real complaints about the car even though the heat didnt work but in my opinion, still a great deal. ive since rebuilt the engine no more blow back, and installed some nice vader seats ,and some 13 inch panasports raised white letering, im in the process off changing the dash, think ill fix the heat then.
