Subject: a note from administrator

At no point in history of FAQ was it my intention to create a forum or a place on the internet for what has been happening here in the last year. This is a place for 2002 owners to share information about their cars.

The original intent of the OT forum was to move the occasional political discussion from the general forum. It's other intent is to allow the users to share their non 2002 interests.

It is no longer fun for me to have to visit the site with the purpose of checking every thread for offensive content with intent of moving them to proper locations, which i had to create after this started. I do not believe it should exist here.

In conclusion, it is my recommendation to people who enjoy this flame wars, please, start your own website with a forum (not sure is www.bitchandmoan.com is taken) with the purpose of continuing this type of conversation. If you want, I can even run an announcement for a couple weeks to make sure that every one knows where to go.

since i'm probably considered the biggest offender, and it's expected from me...and personally believe i have the biggest hoo hoo's around these parts...i'll be the sacrificial lamb and say it for any others that won't

as the world grows so does the diversity of life, both good and bad....many many moons ago, they ship'd all the hooligans to australia...that didn't last very long and as you'll have to admit...a lot of great people live on the little island

my guess is...that every thread posted here comes from the will of the people...the remedy to change the natural flow is to build walls, dams and install speedbumps....or subjectively start banning people

it's unfortunate that you've now taken sides....both camps consist of a lot of people...personally, i believe if left alone...good always prevails without political intervention...politics is what's wrong in the world

Yeah, I got shipped there too, but through no fault of mine. I still like to think of myself as one of the "great people". Thanks Esty!

One of the things that I really liked about steve k's post was that he didn't appear to me to be taking sides. I know the kind of time and energy that it takes to run a board like this... not to mention the money it costs to host the forum. I can understand his frustration at seeing the board used for purposes other than what he intended.

I'm not interested in taking sides or blaming people. Who cares what I think anyways? I don't know you, Al or anyone else who is contributing to the little battle that is going on here. It would be nice if it were contained to the Personal Attacks area of the forum. Not doing so detracts from the real purpose of the forum in my eyes.

Can I deal with it? SURE! I pretty much ignore any thread that has personal attacks in it. You made a great thread about welders. Thanks! I'm glad I looked in there. I learned a lot from the folks that posted in it. I'm glad that I didn't ignore it like I do the other threads made by you, Al and other people involved in this internet turf war.

Steve: Thanks for all the effort and work that you put into this forum. When I get paid next, I'll contribute to help finance the forum. It is a great resource and a nice community. I'm already impressed with the number of patient and helpful people here.

Pete

I think Steve isn't taking sides, except for a big STFU to everyone who makes his life and other users' experience a little more annoying each time they access the site.

Besides, whoever said this is a democracy? He can do what he wants with rules, topic locks, etc. If you don't like it, whoever you are, then start your own blog or site (or at least keep your shit in the designated areas that he was nice enough to cordon off just for you).

Peez out.

It appears (at least pretty clearly to me, and if I'm wrong Steve then please correct me) that the wall has been built and the kind of behavior Steve has mentioned is no longer welcome here.
