Ah, the good 'ol cycling days - wool clothing (no Spandex for this kid thanks!), leather toe straps, Neetsfoot oil, helmets optional (those almost useless hairnet type), 10 sppeds (!!). Here is a scan of a photo of me in a race in the Portland Rose Festival back in about 1968.
I can't remember exactly what parts I need. It's been a while since I've worked on my bike, a LeJeune (French). Good bike, but no great looker like say a Colnago. I sold my Cinelli to pay for the Lejeune. Now I wish I hadn't. I had a Condor (English) time trial bike that had a lugless steel frame. That was very trick for its day. I also had a track bike that was custom made for me by a local shop. Stupid me sold that years ago...
I think I need pedals and brakes or brake parts. I bought some brakes on ebay, but they were not in as good shape as they were led to be. I know I need heqdset parts that have the French thread. I bought a set, but the threads were not correct. I would have to go over my inventory to see exactly what I need.
BTW, when the local racers needed wheels rebuilt or trued, that used to be a specialty of mine. I was actually pretty good at it! When I was about 16 or 17, I got a contract with a local bike importer to build a batch of about 1,000 wheels. I did it production line style in only a few days. I will probably struggle with doing just two now!!
Can you shoot me an email directly with contact info?
Thanks,
Gil

I've been racing for 25 yrs, road, MTB and x-cross. Started out on steel/campy/clips & straps and now race on carbon/ti etc. The old stuff is still close to my heart.
I would be in for a jersey. There are lots of semi custom options such as Voler. My brother and I run a charity century ride www.rideforkaren.com and we use Loius Garneau in Canada. Semi custom usually allows runs as low as 12 units, but it is expensive.
Here's a pic of me racing on a tandem with a buddy of mine. It is an early season enduro, lots of fun. _________________ 73tii
