And I really need to get my wipers fixed. When I have them hooked up the run regardless of the switch position (off, slow, fast dosent matter the wipers run) I can even disconect the wiper switch and they still run. I am expecting the wiper relay but would like to test the relay first before I drop $75.00 on a new relay. My problem is that I cannot find out where the wiper realy is located at on my 69. Any help out there?

Thanks in advance as always!!

in shape to the voltage regulator - could be wrong but pretty sure. You know you can always go to the pick-n'-pull & upgrade to an E21 intermittant system unless you're one of those pureists???

I had the same problem on my 70...the relay is a small silver can on the passenger side fender in the engine compartment.

Mine was stuck closed...it is only used for the washer squirt and the pulse action when you pull the lever....not for the continuopus wiper switch. The relay has a bi-metal strip in it that activates the wipers for like 5 seconds or so. If you just disconnect the relay, you should get the wipers to work. I replaced mine with a standard relay...I don't get the 5 seconds now...just a single pulse.

by the voltage regulator that could be it. On my Neue Klasse 1969 BMW 2000, my wiper relay is round and by the voltage regulator., it could also be the one as Tom mentioned though.

Tim.

Subject: Im not a purest in any form. I'm just an electrical idiot!

I dont know jack about wiring except that it controls electricity (i think). I can trace the wires to a from but diagnosing is a whole new ball game. This car is a LOT easier than the newones around so Im looking forward to learing the "basics" with my 2002. I have a couple of round relays, one by the firewall on passenger side and another on the drivers firewall next to the battery. I do not have any relays under the dash except for the blinker relay on the drivers side kick panel. Thanks for all the help and suggestions!!
