do the little things about automotive stuff drive you crazy. I make no presumptions about my automotive knowledge. Quite the contrary in fact. I mean, if you ask me how a motor does its thing I'm going to tell you it goes round and round and comes out there...and there, and sometimes...there!

The other day I asked a question about how to deal with the vacuum line from the booster to the intake with this Lynx kit I've put on. Yesterday I stopped down at Matt McGinn's to check out progress on the turbo and I asked if he had any suggestions. Matt trots me over to Jim who kindly informs me that the booster, master cylinder can be disconnected and the booster rotated 180 and reconnected, ingeniously solving my problem. I immediately check for furtive glances between Jim and Matt which would indicate they are toying with me and detecting none I'm thinking, "Cool, I can do that." So after dinner this evening I go down and in about 20 min have this chore about wrapped up. Except for the pin which connects the riser out of the pedal box to the booster. The pin is no problem. Its that damned clip that that won't go back on. I know...I can reverse the pin. Cool! At which pint I drop the damned pin down the pedal box frame channel and clatter, clatter down to the pedal box "area". Too late and too pissed off to jack the car up this evening so this simple task will now take somewhere in the neighborhood of 24 hrs to complete. I think I'll blame Jim. Thanks, Jim!

Someday I hope I'll forget what I went through reinstalling the metal feed line into the bushing on top of my clutch master cylinder. One hint, the job was measured in days, plural.

LOL! not at you, but at how many times something similar has happened to me! It has gotten to the point, that I always expect it, and consider myself lucky if it goes smoothly!

I once dropped a carb float needle valve into the engine/transmission oil filler hole on my daily transportation vehicle - a Honda motorcycle. I hated life right then.

I borrowed one of those 3-prong grabber things from a friend. I "planned" my fishing project, I'd start at the rear left corner of the transmission and quit in an hour and then take the case apart. I still consider it a miracle - I plucked that needle valve out of there on the first try! Beer never tasted so good.

Recently that pin and clip cost me 80 minutes of my life, plus sore finger tips and partially broken nails. I knew it was going to be hell so I prepared myself mentally. I succeeded, with the clip on the proper side, but I can't say I was in euphoria afterwards. Just another cross on my to do list. The engineer who came up with that system should be %*#()@ in the ^&*#(*

Subject: Reinstalling the metal clutch M/C feed line--2 tricks...

1. Use the later style plastic line. Pops right in

2. If you use the metal line, install the line in the M/C first, then feed the M/C into position from the top of the engine compartment. MUCH easier. Ask me how I discovered this!

I figured out your solution after I ruined the rubber bushing, which isn't shown in the film anywhere but happens to be the same as the bushing on top of a tii brake master. ( file that away for future reference )Then I wished I had 12 ft long arms so I could reach both the bolt head and the nut at once.

Well, I guess I restart he clock on forgetting this event.

I take a piece of wire and make a loop that goes through the hair pin bend of the damn clip and is big enough to come up above the booster then when the pin is through the key hole on the damn clip you can pull the wire and it will slip into place then just cut the wire and pull it out, its still not easy but its easier.
