Guten tag y'all,

I was in the basement working on my pine wood derby cars and realized the big event wasn't very far away.

* Secured a real pine wood derby track. Practice throughout the day, racing starts at about 1:00ish. Double elimination.

* Have some great raffle prizes coming in as usual.

* Will be getting up with the caterer to revise the menu and see if prices can be lowered on some items.

* Am working on a couple of owners with some really old and interesting BMW's. I'm going to keep the exact models a surprise right now though.

Hope to see you all there.

Guten Tag fer sure. Looking forward to it! Just thinking of how big a caravan we might have heading down there. Need to get a few things sorted out on the 02 and then off to Winston-Salem. Good luck making ready for the hordes of vintage bimmerphiles.

Yup, I just loaded mine with a bunch of lead pellets. There may be a "Legal" and "Outlaw" catagory because I think a few people are bringing their official pine wood derby cars.

Should be fun.

Thinking I should drive to it from AR. Then again I could fly and drive spiffy 1600 cab and have some person with deep pockets take it off my hands and save it from getting an S 14! Where can you buy pinewood kits? Malaga/satin black, bronzit wheels. Oh, wait! Already did that one....

andy, try michael's craft store or any good hobby shop. i try to buy mine from the local hole in the wall hobby shop guy, but he rarely stocks up on pinewood derby stuff...so i have to go to michael's.

you can get pinewood kits from eBay and other online sources as well. about $6 or $8 for a full kit with a sort of formed car or about $4 for a an unformed block, 4 wheels and 2 axles.

I'm bringing the vintage "legal" one, but am thinking of building a new "cheater". Maybe I can install a small, Puerto Rican Rum-powered jet engine on one....

I'm just moving to Lewisville and will be a WestBend neighbor;
do I need to pre register my 74Tii or just show up and hang out?
I'd love a grassy parking spot next to some cousins
peace
Mike

Consider yourself lucky. I tried about 10 hotels in W-Salem and it seems like the whole town is booked up Friday night. That town is gonna be PACKED!

I will be in Georgia Saturday...plan to be driving the Ceylon 02. I might be able to time it so I can go to the Tim Creef Cookout Friday night though. I am going to play it by ear.

If my house hasn't sold(been for sale for 2 years) there is more than enough room for anyone with a sleeping bag and a cot if the floor isn't good enough.
