It makes me wonder if Dubya really represents the american citizens' will, or just what its oil buddies want. Hmmm...

Me think he is protecting his friends. Let's burn more oil.

it won't do anything to reverse or slow down global warming. best estimates give Kyoto a chance of lowering the rate of global warming by 2 degrees celsius over the next 100 years. it's a joke.

that's not to say the goal of eliminating fossil fuels as the "go go juice" for cars is not a worthy goal, just that there's no ready replacement. too bad we can't figure out a way to make electrical motors practical for everyday use. 100% of available torque at 0 rpm. wanna drag?

p.s. convince the Chinese and India that they need to abide by Kyoto also and maybe the pres would be more sympathetic.

Anyone else see the report about the USA cutting emissions .8% since Bush took office? That's without Kyoto. Kyoto was a scheme set up by other nations to rob the US economy. We are already working on getting away from fossil fuels, which more has been done under Bush than any other administration, so why do we need something that would just suck the money from us and give it to the lazier nations.

The reason some European countries are trying to get out is because they aren't get the money they thought they would and it is hurting there economy and their socialist governments are hurting.

Oh, and Bush did not cause the climate change that we are experiencing, it has been in affect for over 150 years, probably longer.

Bush and his "oil buddies" another political "spin". Its a myth.

On global warming, yes it exists and so does global cooling. Every 12,000 years or so we see a new cycle. We are in the middle of a slightly 'warm' period right now. A few more thousand years and it will begin to cool again. Its a natural Earth process.

Earth time dwarfs what we are experiencing now. The last 150 years are but a spec of Earth time, a blip. There isn't enough data anyway to scientifically conclude that man-made warming is actually happening. The media loves it though....say it enough times and it must be true!
