I have some questions about the brake upgrade FAQ
parts listed to get for a non Tii are as follows:
# New 1977(only) e21 Vented rotors
# Used 1981-83 e21 Hubs
# New or Used Girling Vented Calipers for a mid-80s Volvo 240 with VENTED brakes.
# New brake hoses
# New wheel bearings
# Wheel bearing grease
# New performance brake pads
# Two pints of new brake fluid
# Four 1" standard galvanized or stainless steel washers
What is the hub? what are the washers for? brake pads for the volvo 240 calipers, right? and what model would I get wheel bearings for? the 320i, or the 2002 that I own?

the hubs are the wheel hubs, i.e. the rotating part that the wheels bolt onto. Fortunately, the late E21 hubs (actually '80-'83) and the 02 hubs use the same wheel bearings. The washers are used to center the caliper over the brake disc. And brake pads for the Volvo calipers, you got it. BTW, the front wheel hub is attached via a 24mm bolt (at least on the 02, I think on the E21 also). Hope this helps!!!

...and yes, you will need to shim the caliper with washers because the inboard face of the caliper will be closer to the rotor than the outboard face (and the Girling calipers are 4-pots, so you need to be fairly close to center, i.e. not a floating caliper).
Good luck!

...in the sense that you need to remove the hub to get the rotor off of it. Just get that 24mm nut off of there (underneath the dust cap) and the entire assembly - hub, rotor, and bearing - should come out quite easily. Mine did. You may need a 3-jaw puller to get the hub off of the 02, and you'll probably need it for the E21.

Will I need new brake lines/flexable lines for this? I've ordered the parts and they are in but I haven't picked them up or seen them yet. Will I need to splice 2 to 1?
Sorry for the remedial questions & the thread hijack but you have answers & i gots questions!

Now it's starting to come back to me. Two short solid lines coming out of the caliper to a tab on the strut housing. Flex (stainless) lines from the strut housing to the tab on the body solid lines back to the mast.cyl? is that accurate?
