Thread Topic: Tool of the week: kabob skewers Threaded

Subject: Tool of the week: kabob skewers

I rebuilt my heater box last winter and stupidly didn't test it before installing it. Didn't discover until the car was all back together that the fan didn't work.

So now that I'm stripping down the old car to put everything in my new shell I discovered that the ground wire to the fan was not connected inside the box. No way was I going to pull that box apart again after getting everything lined up just right.

Through the fan shield I could see the wire and where it needed to connect. I just needed to find the right tool for the job. Screwdrivers were too fat and too short. Plastic cat toy was too flexible. I searched through the house until I found it...big kabob skewers.

So, with a flashlight between my teeth I slowly poked and prodded with two skewers until I got the wire touching the connector and then finally pushed it home.

Move over duct tape...there's a new tool for the man who can't do it right the first time.
