Sounds like the accelerator pump circuit. It could be clogged and/or have jetted incorrectly. When was the last time they were rebuilt? If you can, when the car is running and at full temp, look down the barrels with a light and move the throttle, see if you are getting the little shots of gas from the accel. pumps.
