My favorite restaurant in New Orleans - Jacques-Imo's. It's uptown, by the riverbend. 8324 Oak Street. If you get there early (5:30 ish) the wait will only be 30 min for a table. Any later, and the wait turns into 1 hr to 1.5 hours. They only take reservations for parties greater than 5.

I lived in New Orleans for 8-1/2 years, and this was my favorite restaurant by far. Get the fried chicken - it is superb!
