"it’s the best 2002 Turbo I’ve ever driven"

Man, that's one sweet 2002 Turbo!

Congrats for job well done, love that kick-out oil pan.
Korman used to get them made by (Kevin?) at Aviad, but that one looks different. Do you know who made it?

Great job Matt (and crew at SCR)! I thoroughly enjoyed checking out this car at V@V 2009 with your crew answering my questions.

Wonderful picture. Photo reminds me of Steve's (aka BLUNT) Colorado 02 in MN (Performance BMW mag).

I don't think the Bimmer article mentioned the additional injector (only the intercooler @ battery mod).

I was going to post here about the article (also Pittsburgh VGP goodness in Roundel), but was too busy.

Thoroughly enjoyed that. Got to be the most desirable turbo in existance. Fantastic detail in the resto and fabulous drivability are hard to beat. Congrats on the execution and on the recognition.

Thanks everyone! It has been quite a journey. Watching Klaus work the camera was a real pleasure. It is always so cool to see someone do something really well. As well as Klaus, I got to see that with Ray Korman doing his work and SCR doing theirs. The first photo was taken with Klaus hanging out the tailgate of his 325 Touring with my wife at the wheel of his car. He had the camera about a foot off the pavement, if that, and I was about 4' behind his car, trying to stay up with my wife, who for a change decided to drive quickly. Some nervous moments, but some great photos. The shot showing the rear missed the 5 turkeys that took off across the road right, and I do mean right, in front of the car. Can you imagine what a turkey would do to that lovely nose job?

When I saw the pic Bill posted of his son, Nathan, a fine young man, driving the car on the way to LRP in '04 I realize again, that while it is all about our cars, It is really all about the people. The cars are the catalyst, but without this hairbrained community, many fewer of these cars would be resurrected and we would all be poorer, not only for the lack of the cars, but surely for the lack of the friends we have all made along the way. So, thanks, all, and as friends I choose to blame you all collectively for the continued encouragement of my reckless endeavor!

Happy Trails!

Thats a great article, i wish my car get the same treatment one day, ie, full restoration, and then a real 02 conoiseur try it. i am cheap so i may restore it myself for the 2nd time and burn tires while nobody knows ;)

I got one of my friend with real BMW afflictions, among some of his BMW's, he just got two M635 from england (RHD), he was keep telling me that his M's whas pushing like trains.
Once he did try my 02, he was scared as hell. He was looking at is Inka M and asked me if it could be possible to put a turbo on...lol...
he owns also a 518 from Israel (weirdest car ive ever seen), a euro alike 528 and used to own a Tii. Thats the guy that actualy sold me my automatic 02.

The change was made about halfway through the 2005 model year and driven primarily by the inability of the alcantara wheel to hold up well over time. Prior to May 2005, Performance Package 330s shipped with alcantara, after that they shipped with a perforated leather wheel. Many originally-alcantara Performance Package 330s, however, will have had the alcantara wheel swapped out for leather under warranty due to excessive wear of the alcantara.

* Lumbar seat support added to the premium package on the 325.

* CD shuttle became MP3 compatible
