i was on the freeway and heard a rattle and something that sounded like it fell off. when i got off, the car was stuck in gear. managed to pull it out, but it would stick in 1st and 3rd. got home in 2nd and 4th. gear shift is super loose, flopping in all directions.
car is 1973 2002 4 speed
any help would be appreciated.

Crawl underneath, and look at the linkage-
I'll bet either a bolt fell out, or one of the
rubber bushings has gotten loose...

i'll crawl under tomorrow. do you think the transmission will be ok if i get the linkage squared away?
