Subject: Valvoline oil on sale at AutoZone

Don't know if anyone uses Valvoline non-synthetic oil but here's the deal: Normally one quart = $3.39 or 5 qts = $16.95. In their sale, buy 5 qts AND a STP oil filter and get it all for $13.99 or $2.80/qt. Of course, you would go home and throw the filter away (or buy a filter for a Toyota and give it to your neighbor).

Autozone, Kragen, Schucks, Checkers, Pep Boys and other red front auto stores seem to run the same adds every other week, if not every week. The ads sometimes include Castrol, Penzoil or Kendall when they are not pushing Valvoline. Same with Purolator, Fram and even Bosch filters. I do not know that the ad you are speaking of is all that special nor that it applies universally, rather than only in your locale.

Is that supposed to be some sort of deal? NAPA sells the NAPA brand oil which is Valvoline for $ 2.29 per qt. everyday. As for the STP oil filter, I'll pass thank you.....

ok, so maybe it isn't a sale for you guys, but I just happen to need some Valvoline. Question for you Napa02, how do you really know it's Valvoline. How reliable is your source and is your info current to make it worth the risk to save $.50 a qt?

Any Valvoline VR1? One of the last remaining sources of ZDDP oil in 20-50 weight.

yes, my AutoZone does have the Valvoline 20-50 Racing oil, and 20-50 conventional. Both at $3.39/ qt. Don't know if the sale applies to the racing oil.

Cool will have to swing by tomorrow but I don't want the filter, is that required?

Mobile one doesn't have ZDDP anymore, for emissions reasons. S14's like zinc.

see, that's the point: if you don't want the filter, you pay 5qts @$3.39. if you want the filter, you pay 5qts @2.80 and take the filter and throw it away. got to buy 5 qts. and a filter. check first if the racing oil is included in the sale.
