I am digging through my 30 year stash of 02 stuff, realizing that I need to downsize. I never pitched anything, so there's seats, steering boxes, trim, etc. that was cheap to replace (relatively) back then, but now expensive or nla. I have a customer for a steering box and a tii exhaust manifold, I don't want to overcharge the guy, but I have paid for a storage unit for at least 10 years, so I need to recoup something for that. So, my question is what do tii struts, exhaust manifolds, and tight steering boxes trade for these days? I sold a super clean tii rear suspension for $125, I know that is cheap, but it was a good buddy. Trouble is, everybody who knows what I have is a buddy!

Hey Dave! hows the new '71 goin for ya?
im sure other guys could be of more help but jaymic prices would be a good indication, they have reconditioned parts also, if you email Faye and ask her for a quotation on any reconditioned part, she will mail you back with a price.
£246.95( $500) for a reconditioned right hand drive steering box on an exchange basis.
http://www.jaymic.com/shop/parts_02.asp
http://www.jaymic.com/shop/contact_us.asp
also try www.realoem.com and type the VIN and you'l get the dealership price for any part.

Hmmm....do you have a lower passenger side door trim piece? I didn't want to spend the dough to get one new piece of trim....I just need one to cover the clips!
Email me at clay [dot] weiland [at] gmail [dot] com if you have one.
Thanks! _________________ ClayW

well I hope you can sell everything you have saved up... my only concern is... for the last 2 months I've been looking for a popular item... which happen to be tii struts... I've seen them in diff places and everyone is over pricing them... ie has them for 605 each... 2002haus has them for more... everyone on ebay or here want a little more than half of new (650)... so I called the dealer to get my price quote and they wanted less than most.... they quoted me 800 for both brand new... boy was I surprised... hope you can give really good prices... I know you don't plan to get rich but your the man... your the one that has what they need... negotiation is always fun... by the way, you mentioned tii struts... if you have a pair let me know... I'm still interested... email is rancherito831@yahoo.com
thank

Mac,
good to hear from you, hope you can come to windy city vintage fest
Ponchis,
I'll check the pile, but I have seven tii restorations to plan, should be an extra pair.
Clay,
I should have one, this is an example of what I was saying, when these were $20, we changed all the mouldings on every paint job, now we are more selective.
Stephen,
thanks for asking, so far it's great, I'll need to swap differentials for a slight whine, and there are a few minor things to attend to.
C.D,
I don't view the storage as a cost of business to mark up, but I can't listen to someone shopping struts at $200-$400 ea, and sell mine for $50 knowing that they were taken from recently running cars and stored for 20 years inside. This post was not a fishing trip, just a plea for opinions, and i appreciate yours.
as for RealOem, I checked the tii exhaust manifold there, on maximillian, and on BMWDCS since I work for a dealer, realoem was just over $300, dealer list is $398, Max was just less than that.
Thanks for all the input
Dave

I wasn't gonna ask... but since Clay did, I feel a little better about begging
Any chance you have any of the window chrome molding (inner or outer - i need both) its the stuff that has the rubber and felt built into it.
The longer I look at mine, the more I realize I'm gonna be sending a $600 check to blunt soon... _________________
