Possibly in the market for another car I used to have back in the 80's.

A 1979 toyota corolla sr5 liftback - preferrably in gold.

I'm not plugged into any Toyota websites or resources since I have been messing with German only cars for the last 15 years. If someone can point me somewhere that I could possibly find one let me know.

Pretty good college student car when I was one of them. The SR5 beat the hell out of the Pintos, Vegas, Gremlins, & Dusters at the time. I rode in one or two back then -- definitely more impressive.

Thanks Esty. I do remember that car and I missed the auction. He had posted that before. Needs a little work but it's not too bad. Maybe I'll contact the seller and see where it goes.

Thanks for that link!

Mars, as you know, like all Toyotas, they were huge sellers here. I've seen quite a few pristine ones at local auto shows,so I'll keep an eye open. Even with the shipping costs it might be worth your while if the price is right.

There's a guy who lives at my town who has a 1980 one since new. He commutes every day to San Juan in it, so it must easily have over 300,000 miles. The body looks ratty, but it keeps on going and going like the bunny in the battery ads.

Hey Harry,

Last time I went back down to the island was around '98 and I saw very few of them around. I was out by Carolina, San Juan and even down over to Yauco and Ponce. I saw more Datsuns than anything else.

If you see a really good one let me know but I know the prices of cars down there are way higher than up here...
