THE WAY THAY COLLECT DATA TEMPERATURES HAS BEEN PROVEN TO
BE VERY CORRUPTED WITH INCONSISTANT MEASURING THAT USUALLY
GIVES FALSE HIGH MEASUREMENTS !

The argument the global warming debunkers make is that it is not proven and a waste of resources to focus on so much.

The only problem I see is that everyone who argues against global warming also seems to have an intense personal hatred (yes, hatred, not just a mild dislike) of Al Gore and everything not rightwing. In short, they aren't exactly non-biased. Nor is their "science."

If Al Gore said he believed in creationism, I suspect the same people would start touting Darwin. Reminds you what the phrase "reactionary" really means.

YEARS AGO WE HAD BIG PROBLEMS WITH ACID RAIN .
THE PROBLEM WAS STUDIED & UNDERSTOOD .
SOME PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS WERE PROPOSED SUCH AS
EXHAUST CATS AND SMOKESTACK SCRUBBERS IN FACTORIES .

WHAT HE DOES HAVE TO DO WITH IS OCCIDENTAL PETROLEUM AND

PROBLEM TO SOLVE .

WITH GLOBAL WARMING , THEY CAN'T PROVE THAT THERE IS EVEN A PROBLEM MUCH LESS A SOLUTION .
THEY BLAME CO2 AS THE CULPRIT WITH NO EVIDENCE THAT IS

TO ME , THIS WOULD LOOK LIKE A SCAM NO MATTER WHO WAS

THE WORST PART OF THIS IS THAT IT WILL IN THE END MAKE PEOPLE LESS RECEPTIVE TO ANY REAL ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRESS AND TAKE

First, let me state that I hate Al Gore almost as much as I hate right wing mumbo jumbo. But that's mainly because BIG FAT Al is a pathetic, hidden-agenda pushing hypocrite.
Now, the world has been heating up since the last ice age, about 10000 years ago. At that time, there were no internal combustion engines or refined oil. I'm all for a clean environment but
a. are we (partly) the source of this heating up? Our government only seems to think so when they can tax us for it.
b. can we do something about it or turn things back. Driving a Prius doesn't mean you don't pollute let alone clean the environment. It means you pollute less (or do you? But that's a different debate). Fossil fuels are, well, fossils. Mainly vegetation which means the carbon trapped in the fossilized fibers of the plants were once in the atmosphere. Now that they are given back by our cars and industries, can or should we trap them? At what cost or effort, and is it worth that trouble? Which brings me to
c. Is it bad that the world is heating up, or climates are changing? Our planet has had a million climate changes - some of which caused mass extinctions - and live has always adapted itself to new circumstances. Humans have always adapted themselves to new situations. How else did we get from hot Africa to Siberia or South American rain forests? Evolution will not stop just because humans have arrived on the scene. Unless you believe in the old testament version of live, then what I've written above is blasphemy.
d. Ever noticed how these hard core tree huggers resemble Christian or Muslim zealots?? It appears "saving" environment has got more to do fiction, gut feelings, popular belief and especially condemning (in that typical pointed finger monotheistic way) than with scientific proof or fact.

There are many things in life where we choose to be as close as possible to 100% sure before taking action: marriage comes to mind for me. However, there are also areas in life where we prepare for the worse even when something is not a given: car insurance, health insurance, life insurance, etc... While taking action to reduce ones carbon footprint is not exactly "insurance", I cannot fathom why we wouldn't take the "just in case" path on this one. RIMSPOKE, I'm not going to argue that everybody agrees on all the science, but won't we feel stupid if we wait until EVERYBODY agrees, and man-made global warming is in fact a major threat, and we've not taken evasive action. For god's sake, let's at least play it safe on this one rather than getting caught up in how many light bulbs Al Gore has (either in his head or his house.)
