Do they make racing stub axles out of billet aluminum with polyuerothane bushings between the differential? I wonder if they are lighter? _________________ 74' malaga automatic 2002, ST 22mm & 19mm sways, Bilstein HD H&R Racing Springs, 40/40 weber, Petronix ignition, 320i Radiator, urethane, Ireland big brake for front and rear, Kevlar race pads.

the billet axle stubs are not aluminum but rather billet steel
not clear on what you mean about poly or are you speaking of the axles themselves? _________________

The billet stubs are good product, and in the opinion of many they are highly-recommended for racing (the extra stress on old stubs could lead to breakage and a lost wheel). I believe Ireland has them, though not cheap.
There have been quiet a few failures (particularly with race cars) - so extra caution must be taken to ensure the axle is fit correctly and stays tight.
A new factory piece is likely just as good as a new summers brothers piece.

No- aluminum doesn't like stress risers and reversals.
So steel's the metal.
