Subject: Finally got my new 02 + pics

Took me forever, 10+ calls between seller-bank, bank-bank, seller-buyer, faxes, written statements, more faxes, mailed Cashier's Check, Returned Cashier's Check, Money Wire, Scheduled pick up, cancelled pickup, rescheduled pickup, delayed delivery. Wow, what a pain. However, I got the car Weds night with about 1zillion dead bugs splattered on it.

1974 Inka with Stripes. DIY restore is a year old.
318i motor and various things here and there.

There is a bit of fit and finish to be done, as are some minor tweaks, sorting, and perfecting. Of course, I'm going to personalize it still.

It arrived with the e-brake cables bound up. Because of this, I'll have it down at motorspeed Friday while I work. Hopefully, I'll still be able to make Brisbane Saturday. It's not going to get a wax and detail though. So please don't judge me too harshly, I will only have had the car for about 48 hours by then. There's only so much I can do!

OK. Pic time. 17 diff pictures in my flickr.

Also want to say many thanks to AndyS and Joshua S. for their help.

AWESOME!

Car looks sweet man! Is that an E30 steering wheel btw? Interior looks nice and clean, and the outside looks cool as well. 318i set up is a big bonus as well.

Btw, I know you were thinking of new rims in one of your other threads, but I think the turbines look great!

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah I am thinking 15s with springs and these kyb's I got from another forum member.

I'm pretty sure the wheel is an E30 wheel.

The 320s are growing on me though. and WOW is it easier to steer than the last one. So, we'll see.

If you come to brisbane you'll see the few items I couldn't see in the photos when I bought it that got me pretty discouraged, but I'm feeling a lot better about it after driving it a bit. Thanks again.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention the blue wire hanging off the front bumper is for the fog lights. They were removed for the drive, I just gotta put em back on.

I hope you have better luck with this one vs. the last one.

By the way - if you want to do some work on the console (like add a radio, but keep the gauges), I recommend Parker Performance. Mark is a great guy to work with, and does some really nice work.

Something like this would look a bit better and be a bit more functional, or something like this, where you get just the panel.

My 02 cents anyway.

Later,

Ken

Yep. AndyS tipped me off on Parker Performance a few weeks ago. Thanks. I am not sure which one to get, but my2002tii.com talks of a custom. I may see about this and the related costs.

Yes, I work at SideStep. Someone honked at me while turning right around Scott and Lafayette/San Tomas. Was that you?

Thanks again for the comments. See some of you tomorrow.

Thx, but it's got a bumper tuck (by way of draining the shocks and pushing in the stockbumper), just a conservative one. I am eyeing the euro bumper conversion for the future.

Got to sort out a few of the half-assed items first though, then worry about cosmetics.
