The locking nut on both my quarter window locking mechanisms are starting to get where they won't lock the window in place while it is open. Is there a method to repair these or are new ones the solution?
Thanks

2588xxx--late '73), the large screw slot on top of the ball-shaped joint can be ever so slightly tightened to hold the window open.
On the later ones with black plastic knobs, tightening the knob will have the same effect.
In either case, it doesn't take much to go from floppy window to one that won't move...
cheers

My issue is that when I tighten them they still won't hold the window tight enough to stay open - it is almost as if they have reached their limited before they start doing their locking job
