Subject: Where to find

I need a 90 or 45 deg plastic fitting with barbed ends to fit the vacuum hose from the intake to the brake booster. Basically it should be the same barbed end as is on the check valve in that line. The "everywhere" I've looked is nowhere.

Hoowwwwdyyyy Jack!

1997-2000 era (E38) 740iL brake booster has a 90* fitting as you describe.

Anything I can do, to keep you from using Home Depot parts on your braking system makes me feel like a worthwhile human being.

It's number 9 in this illustration. RealOEM didn't show a part number on this particular frame - but if you enter in diferent years for E38 740i US cars - surely you'll find an illustration with the 11 digit factory Nr.

best O' Luck!

Do you have a Parker distributor near you? They sell all kinds of stuff like this. They make air cylinders, fittings, hoses and regulators.

Paul, I sincerely thank you for trying to protect me from myself! I do need that help. The fitting on the current booster is a 90 deg fitting, but it points up into the Ramflo filter. It will rotate about 20 deg before stopping. Can I rotate that fitting without screwing up my booster? There is no way that I know of to get inside to hold back on anything. If I can rotate it, I'll turn it 45 deg to the drivers side and that will clear the filter.

The Grainger poly fitting is actually a pretty high temp and pressure spec, but I'd prefer to use BMW components. I just want to get back on the road. Winter is just around the corner. Oh, and I want to stop too!
