Have been having problem with cable reception. Guy comes friday and installes a in line amp and leaves. Now cable is intermittent, sometimes it works sometimes not. Called them back and they are like tuff shit, we can come back in a few days. After 2 days of intermittent cable, I went in to the attic to see what he did. Found the amp plugged in to the attic light socket. That light is wired to our back hall light, so when the hall light was on, cable worked. Light off, cable out. Fucking ass hole.

Please pardon me but, that's a pretty funny story. I started laughing out loud.

Sorry to hear of your cable woes.

BTW, I'm in no way affiliated with cable companies.

Sorry to hear about your experience. My girlfriend worked for Time Warner cable for about a year in thier customer service department. She did sales as well as help with customer complaints, of which there were lots. She always told me about how the supervisors were asses. They were only interested in $$$ and could care less about customers. She also said that they treated the cable installers like shit. Long hours and low pay. I tried to become one and she told me to forget about it. It wasn't worth it. She was later let go for failing to reach a sales goal, which was incredibly high, while others who didn't sell nearly as much were allowed to stay. My girlfriend doesn't take shit from anyone. A couple of times she had to go to her supervisors bosses to make complaints about how the supervisors were treating thier employees. That's the real reason she was let go. Bastards. Oh well. At least we got a year of free cable!

Too bad you aren't here in Vancouver. I'd of set you up right.

Seen that switched outlet create tons of problems and few "god I'm stupid" moments. Really hard not to laugh at the customers. Installers should know better as should the electrician who wired the house...

I'd suggest that the repairman look at the incoming drop and tap. Usually it is a sign of either damaged/chewed up cable (squirrels and mice) or a line/trunk amp that is out of spec. Could be as simple as a poor fitting also.

Good luck!
